DREAMFINDER NEWS JUNE 2008
Welcome to our new website!
We have made it more streamlined and in this section you will find the latest Dreamfinder news which will be updated each month. I know a blog is now the thing but I also know that time, being a scarce commodity, is better spent for us making projects happen!
So new-look website designed by Ruth Selwyn who of course I can highly recommend.
Our big news in June and for the coming months is that we are finally in pre-prep for feature film SOULED OUT written by Jeff Williams and Shimmy Marcus. This fantastic screenplay is a coming-of-story set against the backdrop of the Northern Soul music scene. It should do for Northern Soul what SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER did for disco. Please check the vacancies page to see what crew we are looking for. We are due to shoot for 5 weeks in August in Stoke and the film will be directed by Shimmy Marcus. This is a co-production with Ipso Facto Films who first brought the project to Dreamfinder a few years ago. Watch this space for updates.
PINK, our latest short film written by Geoff Thompson and directed by Michael Baig Clifford, received a great reception at its cast and crew screening earlier this year and it's being submitted to a number of film festivals.
I have also been busy delivering a number of podcast training sessions at the University of Birmingham Media Centre. If you would like to read about a session that I delivered to the Chartered Institute of Public Relations go to:

I was involved in a very interesting discussion with a number of screen industries people which was expertly facilitated by Toby Barnes of Pixel Lab. The discussion was around the New Markets, Innovation and Skills Strategy for Screen WM. If you are interested to read more click on link below:

In addition to this we continue to develop our slate of feature film and television projects and I am actively involved on the boards of both Screen WM and the West Midlands Producers' Forum.
That's all for now folks...
