DREAMFINDER NEWS SEPTEMBER 2010

How ironic that things have been so incredibly hectic that I have not had time (ok, not made the time) to update the news on the site. So where to begin??!!

SOULBOY has been taking the world by storm and it premiered at Edinburgh International Film Festival to critical acclaim. The picture is of us on the red carpet prior to the world premiere. It went onto screen at a number of music festivals over the summer before the national launch at Stoke in August  which was a night to remember with hundreds of Northern Soul aficionados dancing the night away. In July we shot our second feature, TURBULENCE. This was a project developed between long time directing collaborator Michael B Clifford and myself and we developed the characters in the film using Facebook. Working with 6 talented graduates of the Birmingham School of Acting we were able to bring the characters to life before inviting Stavros Pamballis to write a screenplay of sorts in which the dialogue was improvised by the actors on the day. We were fortunate enough to attract a number of great collaborators and talent to the team including ace DOP Ed Moore, legendary sound recordist Billy Bannister, Team Aquila otherwise known as the amazing Higibottom Family and the mighty Adam Regan of the Hare & Hounds. We are hoping to grow the Facebook Fan page to many thousand before we get to the point where we go to a completion financier for money to complete the film. Please help us do this by becoming a fan of the film and telling all your friends about it. There will be plenty of opportunity to become involved in the coming months so follow closely.

In other developments mine and Carol Harding's new company, Vicarious Dreams has received its first commission to develop a very exciting news comedy project-more of when the contracts are signed off.
DEADLOCK continues to garner interest and we are in the process of attaching the female role and THE LAST WITNESS is also moving forward and ever closer to production.

And as if all that wasn't enough... I had my first meeting with Producer Stephen Woolley as part of the Guiding Lights programme and it was really inspiring. I also had the great privilege of becoming an Honorary Doctor of Staffordshire University!!
